Zid product entry: options and categories, with descriptions people read and search

Products uploaded with supplier descriptions and untidy images don't sell and don't show up in search. We enter your products on Zid with their options, stock and categories, and write a description, search title and URL for each — by hand, or from an Excel file when there are many.

A product nobody reads is a product nobody buys

Customers read the description to decide, and Google reads it to show the product. Copied supplier text, duplicated options under different names and categories that don't match how your customers search all make a store harder to browse and weaker in search results.

  • Descriptions copied from the supplier or written in language your customers don't use
  • Options and sizes entered as separate products, scattering stock
  • Search titles and product URLs left on their defaults

What product entry covers

  • Products with options

Single products with or without options, or grouped products, with the sizes, colours, stock and prices you set.

  • Categories and brands

Categories organised the way your customers search, and brands if you sell more than one.

  • Written descriptions

A description for each product that answers customers' questions: material, size, use, care and shipping.

  • Product SEO

Page title, description and URL for every product, within the limits the Zid help centre gives.

  • Images

Each product's images ordered and compressed to consistent sizes, with a clear main image.

  • Excel import

When there are many products: preparing and importing the file, then reviewing what came in, product by product.

Steps

TimingDepends on product count

  1. Receive the data

You send the product list with images, prices and stock, or an export file from your current platform.

  2. Structure

We agree categories, options and a naming pattern before entry.

  3. Entry and writing

We enter products by hand or by import, and write descriptions, search titles and URLs.

  4. Review and handover

You review a sample on your phone, then we hand over the final product file.

What you receive

  • Products published with their options, stock and categories
  • A description, search title and URL for every product
  • An Excel file of the products as entered, for later updates
  • A post-handover fix period set by the contract

Who it's for

  • New Zid stores with a product list ready
  • Live stores with copied or missing descriptions
  • Merchants adding a new range or season

When it isn't the right fit

If your products are on another platform and you want all of them moved to Zid with their links, the migration service fits better because it includes redirecting old links.

Before you decide

By hand or from Excel?

According to the Zid help centre, products can be imported in bulk from an Excel file — adding new products, updating existing ones, replacing them, or updating quantities only — and exported the same way. A file is faster for large lists; manual entry is more precise for products with many options. We choose with you, and review what the file brought in before publishing.

What goes into product SEO

Each product on Zid has a page title, description and URL. The Zid help centre recommends titles of up to 70 characters and descriptions of up to 320, and fills empty fields from the product name and description. We write the title in the words your customers search with, and the description so they click.

What we need from you

The product list with prices and stock, images at the best quality available, and anything we can't know about a product: material, sizes, how it's used. We don't invent specifications — whatever we don't know, we ask.

Frequently asked questions

Do you write the descriptions or copy the supplier's?

We write them for your customers and for search, from the information you send. The supplier's text is a source of facts, not text to copy.

I have hundreds of products — can they be imported?

Yes; Zid supports importing and updating products from an Excel file. We prepare the file, import it and review the result, with timing and price by product count in the written quote.

Do you add product photos?

We order and compress your images to consistent sizes. Product photography itself is outside this service.

How is the service priced?

By product count and how complex the options are, in a written quote before any payment.
