Zid services · Store migration

Moving a store from Salla to Zid, or from Zid to Salla, without pausing sales

You've decided to move but worry about losing products or your Google rankings. We take stock of your current store, move and clean the products, redirect old links with the new platform's redirect tool, and run both stores side by side until switch-over day.

Products move in a file; your Google rankings don't move on their own

An Excel file carries names, prices and quantities, but product and category URLs change between Salla and Zid, and whatever Google had indexed becomes a missing page unless it is redirected. Options, images and descriptions need checking after the import, and the old platform's apps need a replacement before switch-over day, not after.

  • Fear of losing products, their options or images
  • Old links indexed in Google that will break
  • Sales stopping during the move

What the migration covers

  • Inventory and export

Products, categories and indexed links in your current store, with duplicates and gaps cleaned up.

  • Import

Into Zid from an Excel file as its help centre describes, or into Salla through its Zid product import — then a review of what came in.

  • Redirects

301 redirects from every old link to its new equivalent, from an Excel file when there are many.

  • Side-by-side running

The old store keeps selling until the new one is complete and tested, then the switch on a quiet day.

Steps

TimingDepends on product count

  1. Inventory the current store

Product and option counts, indexed links, and the apps that need a replacement on the new platform.

  2. Written quote

What moves and what is set up again, the timing and price, and a switch date away from your peak season.

  3. Move and clean

We export, clean and import the data, and you review the new store.

  4. Redirects and switch-over

We prepare the redirects, move the domain on a quiet day and follow the first orders.

What you receive

  • A store on the new platform with your products and categories
  • Redirects for the old links
  • A report of what moved, what didn't, and why
  • Follow-up after the switch
  • A post-handover fix period set by the contract

Who it's for

  • Salla stores moving to Zid
  • Shopify or WooCommerce stores that want a Saudi platform
  • Zid stores moving to Salla

When it isn't the right fit

We don't recommend migrating during your busiest season; we plan a quiet date with you even if it's weeks away. And if you're not sure about the new platform, compare before you move.

Before you decide

Zid's redirect tool is built for migrations

The Zid help centre explains that its URL redirect feature sends old links to their new addresses after moving to Zid with permanent 301 redirects, to protect the store's search rankings; it applies to broken links only and can be imported from Excel when there are many. So we inventory the indexed links before the move and prepare the redirect file before switch-over day.

What doesn't move

Customer passwords never move, for security reasons, and many of the old platform's apps and settings have no direct equivalent. Before we start we write down what moves and what is set up again, and the handover report lists what moved, what didn't, and why.

From Zid to Salla?

The Salla help centre says Salla can import products from Zid without re-entering them. Links need the same care in the other direction; we explain the method on the Salla migration page and in our article on moving from Zid to Salla.

Frequently asked questions

Do you move stores from Zid to Salla too?

Yes, in both directions. Details of moving to Salla are on the "Move your store to Salla" page under Salla services.

Do customer passwords move?

No — platforms don't allow it, for security reasons. Customers set a new password the first time they sign in.

Zid says its team helps with migration — why would I need you?

Zid says its team and technology partners help merchants move to it, and that may be enough for you. What we add: an inventory and redirects of your indexed links, cleaned products and descriptions, both stores running side by side until the switch, and a written report — with a clear quote before any payment.

Why is there no fixed migration price?

Because a migration depends on product count, options and indexed links. After taking stock of your store we send a written quote with scope, timing and price.

Will my store stop during the move?

No. The old store keeps selling until the new one is complete and tested, then we switch on a quiet day.
