How much does a website cost in Oman? There is no single "market price" that holds for everyone, because quotes rarely describe the same thing. Six factors set the price: the design approach (template or custom), the number of languages, who writes the content, the functionality (bookings, payments, a dashboard), speed and SEO, and then the yearly costs of domain, hosting and maintenance. Naqla publishes two packages: Digital Presence at OMR 69 and Online Store at OMR 89, each paid once; anything beyond them gets a written proposal.

Why we don't quote "market ranges"
You will find tables online claiming a business website costs "OMR X to Y". Those figures are estimates from companies selling the same service, and they lump very different things under one label: a customised one-language template, and a custom bilingual build with a dashboard and payments. So we won't repeat other companies' prices. Instead we explain what pushes the price up or down, give you a way to calculate the real three-year cost of any quote, and a question list that makes quotes comparable. The only prices we state are our own published packages.
What you are really paying for
| Factor | Lowers the cost | Raises the cost |
|---|---|---|
| Design | Ready template customised to your brand | Custom design from a blank page |
| Languages | One language | Arabic and English, with separate SEO per language |
| Content | Your copy and photos are ready | Copywriting and product photography included |
| Functionality | Information pages and a contact form | Timed bookings, online payment, system integrations |
| Dashboard | Editing text and images | Managing products, stock and branches |
| Speed and SEO | The basics done right from day one | Ongoing optimisation and regular content |
| Timeline | Complete materials, quick decisions | Repeated scope changes |
- Design approach. A customised template is cheaper and faster than a design built from a blank page. Ask which one you are getting; both are fine if the quote says so.
- Languages. Arabic and English is not just translation: right-to-left layout, different fonts, separate SEO. Ask what the second language adds to the price.
- Content. Cheap quotes often assume your copy and photos are ready. Copywriting and product photography are separate line items.
- Functionality. Contact forms are simple. Bookings, payments, WhatsApp order alerts and an editing dashboard each add build and testing time.
- Speed and SEO. Mobile performance, page titles, sitemaps and structured data are work, not a checkbox. Mobile matters most: DataReportal counts 5.28 million internet users in Oman (95.3% penetration) and mobile connections at 125% of the population.
- Ownership. If the domain or hosting is registered to the agency, you are renting your website. Insist on your company's name from day one.
Yearly costs after launch
The first price is not the last. Every quote should state the renewal price of these items:
| Item | When you pay | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Domain (.com, .om or other) | Yearly | The renewal price, not a discounted first year; whose name it is in |
| Hosting | Yearly or monthly | Storage, backups and renewal price |
| SSL certificate | Yearly, or free with hosts that support Let's Encrypt | Included and auto-renewing? |
| Business email | Yearly or monthly per mailbox | How many mailboxes are included? |
| Maintenance | Monthly or on demand | Exactly what it covers (see below) |
| SEO | Monthly, if you need it | What written monthly deliverables? |
On .om domains, the only item here with a published government fee: the TRA domain regulation sets the official registration and yearly renewal fee at OMR 5 (Article 33), and Article 35 bars accredited registrars from charging operational fees above 100% of that fee without prior TRA approval. Ask your registrar to break down what you pay. More in our .om domain guide.
How to calculate the real three-year cost of any quote
Three-year cost = design and build + (yearly domain and hosting renewal × 2) + (monthly maintenance × 36, if taken) + any monthly subscription × 36
Why "× 2" for renewals? Most quotes include year one, so you pay renewals in years two and three. If year one isn't included, make it "× 3".
Copy this sheet and fill it in for each quote:
| Item | Quote A | Quote B | Quote C |
|---|---|---|---|
| Design and build (one-off) | |||
| Year one domain and hosting included? | |||
| Yearly renewal after year one | |||
| Monthly subscription or maintenance | |||
| Domain registered to whom? | |||
| Written revision rounds | |||
| Delivery time, and what happens if late | |||
| Three-year cost |
How to read it: suppose Quote A has a lower design price but a higher yearly renewal, registers the domain to the agency, and promises "unlimited" revisions with no definition. Quote B costs a little more upfront, renews for less, registers the domain to you and lists three revision rounds. After three years the totals may converge or flip, but B is far clearer and safer. That comparison protects you, not the first number.

Online store cost: subscription platform or your own store?
Subscription platform. Low upfront cost, then a monthly plan, payment fees per order, and sometimes paid apps. For example, Zid's pricing page lists a free "Starter" plan, "Launch" at SAR 99 a month and "Growth" at SAR 299 a month, and says Zid is available in Oman (zid.sa/ar/pricing, last checked October 2026). Those are Saudi riyal prices as published; ask the platform for Omani pricing.
Your own store. Higher one-off build cost, then yearly hosting and domain, plus gateway fees per order. No platform subscription, but someone has to maintain it.
| Subscription platform | Own store | |
|---|---|---|
| Upfront | Low | Higher |
| Monthly | Plan and apps | No platform fee; maintenance if needed |
| Payment fees | Per order | Per order |
| Design control | Within themes | Full |
| Moving later | Depends on export tools | Files and data are yours |
| Omani licensed gateway | Whatever the platform supports in Oman | You choose and connect it |
Either way, Article 10 of Oman's E-Commerce Regulation requires your store to use a bank or payment provider licensed in Oman. And run the numbers over three years: a small monthly plan becomes a big figure after 36 months.
Maintenance after launch: what a site actually needs
Ask whether each item is included, and the price if not:
- Domain and hosting renewal on time.
- Security updates for the CMS and plugins, especially WordPress and WooCommerce.
- Backups: where, how often, and has a restore ever been tested?
- Content edits: prices, photos, offers, hours. A dashboard plus training removes most of this cost.
- Downtime monitoring.
- A simple monthly or quarterly report on traffic and enquiries.
A simple site with a dashboard needs little maintenance. A store taking payments needs regular updates. Don't pay monthly for a site that never changes, and don't leave a payment-taking store unpatched.

Why a fixed published price? Because a package is a defined list built on a system we reuse. Custom projects vary in scope, so a fixed price doesn't fit them. Custom design, inventory or branch integrations, and booking systems are outside the package and quoted in writing. After year one you renew with us or move to any provider at no transfer fee; domain and hosting then renew at the provider's published price. A PDF contract comes before any payment.

FAQ
How much is a website in Oman?
It depends on scope: template or custom design, one language or two, ready or commissioned content, simple pages or payment and system integrations. There is no official price. Naqla publishes two packages, Digital Presence at OMR 69 and Online Store at OMR 89, paid once; anything larger gets a written proposal.
How much is a .om domain?
The official TRA fee is OMR 5 per year, and registrars may not add more than 100% in operational fees without TRA approval. Ask your registrar for a breakdown.
Are there monthly fees?
Depends on the provider. Some platforms charge monthly subscriptions and some agencies sell monthly maintenance. Naqla's two packages are paid once, with domain and hosting renewing yearly after the first year.
How long does it take?
It depends on scope. Naqla's packages are delivered within 7 working days of receiving your materials, or you get a full refund.
Is the cheapest option always worse?
No. Low prices often mean a template and a fixed scope, which suits many shops. The risk is ambiguity: a domain not in your name, unpublished renewals, or no contract.
